ASEAN Overview

This Great Graphic was posted by the World Economic Forum twitter here.  They think it is about the development of the ASEAN countries, helped by the rise of China.  Consistent with this, but from a somewhat different perspective, what they are documenting is the development of the west side of the Pacific basin economic community.   The east side is also developing and growing more integrated with the west.  For more than a quarter of a century more goods have crossed the Pacific than the Atlantic.  This adds another dimension to the challenge of integrating Asia into a bloc, like NAFTA or the EU.
